A thought the most fluid form
Branch with one sentence.
Every card has a box that starts with what if. Type the change and a child idea is born under its parent. The sentence is the whole difference; there is no form to fill.
The child starts fresh and knows where it came from. It only reads its parent when the conversation needs it.
A conversation the idea speaks as itself
Talk to the idea, not about it.
An idea keeps one sentence of essence, a next step and its own notes. Ask it something and it answers from that memory. Each idea shows how solid it has become, from a passing thought to a working product, and whether it is waiting on you.
A presentation something you can touch
Make the next step tangible.
An idea without a direction turns to mist and disappears; Ocean shows those fading. The direction is always the next small thing you can try: a page, a mock, a tiny game.
It lives on the idea’s card. If it fails, that is a lesson, and the idea goes on.
A product the ocean
Rivers flow into the ocean.
Products sit on the water at the bottom. Live ideas rise above the product they came from, one generation per row. An idea ends by merging into another idea or landing in a product, and then it sinks under it.
The wave what a finished idea leaves
Nothing finished vanishes.
A finished idea is not deleted. It leaves a trail you can walk back down: what it tried, what failed, what it taught. Press t and the ocean becomes a history by day.
Why in the maker’s words
We don’t do anything. We just give an idea space to grow, and it comes to life.
If we give it space and no direction, it turns into a gas and disappears. We have to give it a direction, so it flows into something material.
A closed thread must not be gone. It leaves a legacy, and following it I should reach the detail.
Like a drop in the ocean. The drop that falls in, and the wave it makes.
Yasin Uslu built Ocean as a lab: idea-board ideas are tried here cheaply, and the good ones move into the tools he uses every day.
